This 6 hour course is designed to educate school threat assessment members to identify behaviors, signs, and threats that may lead to a violent act; determine the seriousness of a threat; and develop intervention plans that protect potential victims and address the underlying problem or conflict that initiated the behavior.  This training includes activities as well as scenario-based discussions throughout the curriculum to foster participation and collaboration to enhance training effectiveness. As part of the curriculum, participants are provided a model threat assessment plan along with various forms to support the  efforts to create or enhance their threat assessment management process.

For Ohio schools, this training has been approved by the Ohio School Safety Center per the Ohio Revised Code sections 5502.263 and 3313.669.
