Collaborative Partnership Between the International Association of Maritime Port Executives and the All Hazards Training Center

A collaborative partnership has been established between the International Association of Maritime Port Executives (IAMPE) and the All Hazards Training Center (AHTC), a University of Findlay Training Center.

The first initiative to be conducted under this new partnership is the presentation of Coast Guard-accepted Facility Security Officer (FSO) training at locations across the United States. This 20-hour course was first presented by the AHTC in May 2004 and has received approval under the voluntary federal program since 2005. The course prepares FSOs for the skills, knowledge, and responsibilities required by 33 CFR 105.205. Course participants are informed about regulatory and policy changes as well as current and developing threats to the U.S. Marine Transportation System. The course is taught by an experienced Facility Security Officer.

The IAMPE is a not-for-profit industry association that provides professional development for coastal and inland port and terminal managers and executives.  Programs are reviewed and approved for certification by the Association’s Board of Advisors, comprised of over 20 industry professionals.  Academic partners include the Graduate Schools at Maine Maritime Academy, Massachusetts Maritime Academy and Texas Southern University as well as the Continuing Education Program of the State University of New York Maritime College, the Australian Maritime College, and the University of Findlay. The Association offers professional and accredited programs in Coastal and Inland Port Management and Executive Management, as well as certification programs for Marine Terminal Operator and IMDG/Hazardous Awareness.  The Association has over 2,500 alumni worldwide.

The All Hazards Training Center, established by the University of Findlay, is the nation’s leader in the development and delivery of customized environmental, health and safety training programs.
